Kirk Herbstreit ponders if Ohio State would have preferred road CFP game
Kirk Herbstreit was among the many to react to the final edition of the College Football Playoff rankings, and they were a bit personal to him considering that he was an Ohio State Buckeye.
The team, previously ranked within the top three in the nation, took a bit of a fall as the season went on, but still came in at No. 8 overall in the release. That means they will not be getting a first-round bye, but they will host Tennessee in their own house in that initial game.
Herbstreit is not so sure how he feels about that, appearing to take a shot at the fanbase for their poor support of the team when it plays in Ohio Stadium after the Buckeyes suffered a severe upset from the Michigan Wolverines, falling 13-10 at home.
“I don’t know if it would have been better for Ohio State to go on the road to get away from their home crowd that’ll be booing after their third down, not converting and their punter comes out,” he said “Booing Ryan Day… they’ll have to rally and have a good start to that game or it could turn sideways with the home crowd in my opinion.”

How this one plays out as the Buckeyes look to return to glory and get back on the national championship stage will be something to watch as the CFP is played out in its 12-team format for the first time ever.
