Justin Fields is officially a starting quarterback in the NFL.

Bears coach Matt Nagy officially named Fields as his starter during a press conference on Wednesday afternoon. Fields has started the last two weeks due to Andy Dalton suffering an injury, but now the move is permanent.

It’s Justin’s time,” Nagy told reporters.

Fields had the best game of his career so far on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. He completed 11-of-17 passes for 209 yards in a 24-14 win over Detroit. He is still looking for the first passing touchdown of his career.

Despite not finding the end zone yet, Fields is starting to connect on the deep ball. He hit receiver Darnell Mooney in stride early in the game vs. the Lions, which led to Chicago’s first touchdown of the day.

After the game, Fields was complimentary of his offensive line.

Fields will make the third start of his career on Sunday against the Las Vegas Raiders.
