This is a huge addition for Chris Holtmann’s squad as they pick up an incredibly seasoned and productive player. In four seasons with the Nittany Lions, Wheeler has appeared in 127 games with 84 career starts.

In the 2020-21 season, Wheeler averaged 6.8 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.8 steals. He is a two-time All-B1G Defense selection and has a career average of 1.5 steals per game.

Penn State has recently hired Micah Shrewsberry to lead the Nittany Lions basketball team, and a host of players have been entering the transfer portal. While some of those players may decide to return to Penn State, we now know that Wheeler is one that is moving on.
