Ohio State senior receiver Kamryn Babb was named an Ohio State team captain this week despite limited playing time due to injuries in his career.
Babb, who has suffered an ACL tear on four separate occasions, has become one of the Buckeyes’ biggest leaders in the locker room.
With Babb, Ohio State continued its recent tradition of having team captains and their position coaches make a call home to let them know the good news.
Here’s Babb’s emotional calls to his parents alongside Ohio State receivers coach Brian Hartline:
"Some people remember stats. Everyone remembers how you make them feel."

Babb’s mother, Alana, appeared to be fighting back tears during the call.
“I’m proud of you,” she said. “I’m really proud.”
Hartline made a point to reference Babb’s impact in the locker room.
“Thank you for your son because he’s made an impact more off the field than on the field, but that’s the ones that last forever,” Hartline said on the call. “Everyone knows that. Some people remember stats but everybody remembers how you make them feel. And Kam makes people feel a certain way so thank you for that.”
Ohio State opens its 2021 season on the road against Minnesota on Sept. 2.
