Ohio State put an exclamation point to this year’s redemption story Friday night.
After a brutal loss last season and a tumultuous year in the B1G, not many people were expecting the Buckeyes to pull off the upset of Clemson. The expectation around the country was that the Tigers would roll to a third straight National Championship Game behind star quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
In the end, Ohio State rolled into the rematch and steamrolled Dabo Swinney’s squad behind an epic performance by Justin Fields. It was a game for the ages as Fields – and star receiver Chris Olave – more than made up for the miscommunication that led to the end of last year’s loss.
One thing that stuck with the Buckeyes after losing in 2019 was the postgame celebration of the Tigers with players producing confetti angels on the field. After Friday’s win, multiple Ohio State members – including defensive coordinator Kerry Coombs – had a bit of redemption with their own celebration.

To the victor go the spoils! Now, it’s time for Ohio State to turn its sights on preparing for Nick Saban’s No. 1-ranked Alabama squad in the National Championship Game.
