More than six million people watched Ohio State’s 45-31 victory over Minnesota on Thursday night, according to a report.
That’s per Sports Business Journal’s John Ourand, who also notes that this is one of the highest-rated college football games FOX has ever broadcasted.
Of note: the Ohio State-Minnesota viewership ranks as the 10th biggest audience for a regular season college football game on Fox.

According to The Athletic’s Stewart Mandel, college football didn’t have a game this highly-rated until Week 7 last season:
Return to normalcy!
Last year CFB didn't get that big an audience until Week 7. https://t.co/GFx9kzesZp

Ohio State’s victory over Minnesota easily beat out ESPN’s competing broadcast of Central Florida vs. Boise State. UCF overcame a 21-point deficit to win that game, but that contest also had a lengthy weather delay.
The Buckeyes’ ended up winning by two touchdowns, but the Golden Gophers put up a fight. Minnesota led the game at halftime and looked like a legitimate threat to pull off the upset before running back Mohamed Ibrahim suffered a potential season-ending injury.
Ohio State could put up another huge ratings number next week as the Buckeyes host Oregon on Sept. 11. That game will also be broadcast on FOX at 12 p.m. ET.
