Ryan Day on CJ Stroud's instant impact in the NFL: 'He's given that organization hope'
CJ Stroud is having one of the best rookie seasons for a QB in recent memory.
The former Ohio State QB broke the record for the most passing yards in a single game in NFL history Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, throwing for 470 yards. This surpasses Andrew Lucks’s mark of 433.
Stroud raises the Texans floor dramatically. Houston won just 3 games last year but now sits at 4-4 on the season with Stroud shining.
On Tuesday, Ohio State HC Ryan Day was asked about Stroud and his hot start to his NFL career. Here’s what he had to say:
Ryan Day on C.J. Stroud:
“He deserves all the success he’s receiving. … A lot of people questioned him in certain ways, but you never saw him react in any way. … He’s a pro. … He’s given that (Houston Texans) organization hope.”

Plenty was said about Stroud’s inability during the NFL Draft this past offseason. Some said he didn’t have the knowledge of the game while others pointed towards Ohio State’s track record of underwhelming QB play at the next level.
But Stroud has obviously shut out all the noise.
