Sometimes the little things on offense get overlooked, but Urban Meyer took time to highlight the work put in by Ohio State’s WR unit this season.
The Buckeyes are coming off of a big win over Penn State in what turned into a dramatic, back-and-forth affair. In the end, Ohio State secured a one-point win over the Nittany Lions for a second straight season.
Following the win, Meyer took time to praise his WR unit during his Monday press conference. He described the blocking by the unit as “elite” and felt that describing the performance as “great” was not enough.
Dan Hope with Eleven Warriors shared Meyer’s comments:
Urban Meyer described Ohio State's wide receiver blocking as "elite." "Great's probably not a strong enough word."

Ohio State absolutely puts a premium on solid blocking. WR Terry McLaurin was named the Offensive Player of the Game for the win over Penn State despite not catching a pass. What set McLaurin apart was his blocking throughout the game.
