A report from Brett McMurphy that was released on Tuesday morning may result in legal action.

On Tuesday, McMurphy released the report in which LeBron Grimes, father of former Buckeye Trevon Grimes, said Smith directed a racial slur at his son during an argument. LeBron Grimes also claimed the Urban Meyer attempted to cover up the altercation.

Several players and administrators have responded to the report, denying the validity of McMurphy’s and Grimes’ claims.

During the B1G coaches teleconference on Tuesday, Meyer was also asked about the report, and the head coach was “irate” when he heard about it.

“Quite honestly, the most preposterous thing I’ve ever heard,” Meyer said.

The Ohio State head coach also said the university is “certainly looking into legal action” in response to the story.

Everyone associated with Ohio State has denied the report from McMurphy. President Michael Drake said the report was “irresponsible and inflammatory.” Athletic director Gene Smith also shot down the claims.

Current receivers Johnnie Dixon III, Austin Mack and Parris Campbell all spoke out against the report, as well.

Treon Grimes is a former member of Ohio State’s football team but left the program midway through the 2017 season due to family health concerns. He currently plays at the University of Florida.
