Paul Finebaum has crossed the wrong person.

Recently, the SEC Network host and college football expert has gone on record saying that Urban Meyer is planning his exit strategy at Ohio State. Finebaum claims he’s heard “whispers” that the Buckeyes’ head coach will soon be leaving Columbus, potentially as early as the end of the 2018 season.

That did not sit well with Meyer’s wife, Shelley Meyer.

Over the weekend, a fan asked Shelley Meyer how she felt about Finebaum’s comments regarding her husband. Needless to say, she wasn’t a fan.

“Ummm, newsflash? Or Maybe not,” Shelley Meyer wrote on Twitter. “He gets NONE OF MY ATTENTION. Should get no one else’s either. I don’t listen or watch him or his network anymore.”

Shelley Meyer’s goal is to shut down the rumors that her husband is leaving Columbus. But with Ohio State’s recent play, it’s unlikely the conversation will ever settle down.

Even ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit described Urban Meyer’s behavior as “anguished” and “erratic” following the Buckeyes’ blowout loss to Purdue.

There’s still a month left in the season. If Ohio State corrects some of its issues over the next few weeks, the discussion will likely dwindle down. But another loss before the end of the season and the rumors will continue to fly.

And there’s nothing Shelley Meyer will be able to say to quiet the speculation.
