Quinn Ewers won’t be suiting up for Ohio State until the 2022 season, but when he arrives on campus in Columbus he’s going to be incredibly prepared to challenge for the starting job. The nation’s top prospect in the 2022 class is training with some of the best.

This week, Ewers spent time training with NFL superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes and recent NFL Draft selection and former Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger. That’s pretty good company.

Ewers is a 5-star quarterback and ranked as the No. 1 overall recruit in the 2022 class. The Southlake, Texas native committed to Ohio State in November 2020 after decommitting from Texas.

Ewers was an Elite 11 finalist and received an invitation to the All-American Bowl. During the 2020 season, he threw for 2,442 yards and 28 touchdowns with only 5 interceptions while also rushing for 133 yards and 3 scores. In 2019, Ewers totaled 4,003 yards and 45 touchdowns through the air and added 568 yards and 9 touchdowns on the ground.

He seems prepared and ready to be a Buckeye. But with a loaded quarterback room in Columbus, it won’t be easy for Ewers to steal the starting job as a true freshman.

Training with one of the NFL’s can only help is chances.
