Since the lawsuit became public knowledge, Franklin and the university have issues statements regarding the matter. But, that’s not all.
Former Penn State LB Jason Cabinda — who played for Franklin — backed his coach the very next day. It’s not only Cabinda, though.
If you got back to Franklin’s days at Vanderbilt, he had a quarterback by the name of Austyn Carta-Samuels. Carta-Samuels spoke out for his former coach on Tuesday as well:
I was James Franklin’s QB in 2013 & tore my ACL in Game 7. I wanted to play on it. 3 wks later I was cleared by the doctors to play at Florida…
Franklin thought I was rushing it & chose to protect me & told me I’d start vs Kentucky the next week.

It is certainly possible that the entire lawsuit is based on accusations that aren’t true. It’s also possible that what Franklin and Penn State University are facing is very real. There could also be some sort of middle ground.
We’re of course bound to find out more as the days go on.
