Chad Powers impact: James Franklin discusses benefits of Eli Manning cameo, plans to get QB out for PSU game
Chad Powers has a legendary impression with Penn State just by falling short of his walk-on tryout with the Nittany Lions football team. Powers, actually two-time Super Bowl champion Eli Manning, was in disguise trying out for a walk-on spot on the football team and produced one of the top sports moments of the season.
Powers created some legendary quotes during his tryout for the Nittany Lions football team that has been used to make t-shirts to sell and use the money to benefit and support walk-ons. Penn State head coach James Franklin looks to have Eli Manning, aka Chad Powers, out for a game.
Franklin was asked about ESPN’s series of Chad Powers videos and said Penn State hopes to have Eli Manning out for a game this fall. Also mentioned how t-shirt sales have benefitted walk-on players

Among the former players for Penn State that have bought t-shirts inspired by Powers is Saquon Barkley. The New York Giants running back and former teammate of Manning’s was seen rocking a Chad Powers shirt following practice.
