After leaving Penn State’s game with Iowa with an injury, Penn State head coach James Franklin was hopeful for the return of running back Devyn Ford for the Nittany Lions game with Michigan.

Prior to the game against the Wolverines on Saturday, it was reported that Ford was not present for the Penn State pre-game workouts. ABC News shortly after reported that Ford would not be in Ann Arbor due to a death in the family.

Heading into the contest with the Wolverines, Ford had been the starter in the backfield for four-straight games, rushing for 209 yards on 56 carries and two touchdowns.

Franklin said on Tuesday that Ford was at practice on Sunday and expects him to be available to play on Sunday.

The Nittany Lions will travel to New Jersey to take on Rutgers on Saturday, Dec. 5 – kickoff is scheduled for 12:00PM.
