Penn State received some bad news about one of their transfer commits on Wednesday. The Nittany Lions had a WR transfer commit decide to change his commitment to a Big 12 program.

Devin Carter originally committed to Penn State after transferring from the Wolf Pack shortly after the Rose Bowl. Carter played in 42 career games for N.C. State.

Carter revealed on Wednesday that he would be flipping his commitment to West Virginia. Carter will be playing for Neal Brown, who is chasing his first winning season with the Mountaineers since 2020.

Carter entered the transfer portal on Dec. 13. Losing his veteran experience could hurt the Penn State receiving core. His 6-foot-4, 205 pound frame could cause problems for opposing defenses.

Penn State will need to find some more options at WR before too long as Parker Washington and Mitchell Tinsley have both declared for the 2023 NFL Draft.

While at N.C. State Carter caught 118 passes for 1,906 yards receiving and 10 touchdowns.
