Saturday Tradition News: Kirk Herbstreit picks Trace McSorley to win Heisman Trophy

Is Saturday the first week in the Nittany Lions signal-caller’s Heisman campaign? ESPN “College GameDay” analyst Kirk Herbstreit sees McSorley as taking home the hardware this December.

“How about it? He’s the Baker Mayfield of this year as far as intangibles, what he means to this team, attitude, how he plays with a chip on his shoulder…what he means to his team in 2018 reminds me a lot of Baker,” Herbstreit said. “I think that’s how Trace will play this year. And I think they’ve got a chip because people made it seem like it was more about Saquon Barkley, and I think they’re out to prove to people, “No, no, no, we have more in this program than Saquon Barkley.”

Saturday Tradition News: Penn State LB leaves the program less than a month after being reinstated

Manny Bowen had been reinstated as a member of Penn State’s football team less than a month ago, but the linebacker has now left the program.

Penn State confirmed reports by saying, “Manny Bowen is no longer on the Penn State football team. We wish him all the best.”

Bowen was suspended for the final three games of the 2017 regular season and was dismissed from the program prior to the start of the Fiesta Bowl.
