Penn State commit Jerry Cross says he's 'Locked in' on Nittany Lions, shuts down recruitment
Penn State tight end commit Jerry Cross is “Locked in” on the Nittany Lions.
He made that proclamation on Twitter on Wednesday night:
107% LOCKED IN. It’s been fun but I am shutting down my recruitment. To all my brothers let’s continue to build and make this the best class to come out of Penn State!💙#weare22 pic.twitter.com/10HqPcjhvc

That’s a big deal for James Franklin and his staff, as Cross certainly had other programs wanting him to take official visits this summer and fall.
Beginning June 1, 2022 prospects will be able to take official visits to schools. It’s the first time that official visits have been permitted since the pandemic started in March of 2020.
Cross isn’t the first Penn State commit to make a similar announcement. 4-star receiver commitment Kaden Saunders sent out a similar message earlier this week.
Cross is one of the best tight end recruits in the nation. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, he’s the No. 8 tight end and the No. 218 overall player in the class of 2022.
Penn State’s recruiting class is currently ranked No. 6 nationally and No. 2 in the Big Ten, according to 247Sports Composite rankings.
