Penn State added to its 2022 recruiting class in a big way on Thursday night.

The Nittany Lions picked up a commitment from 3-star OL prospect Andre Roye.

Here’s his announcement:

Roye is the No. 80 overall offensive tackle prospect in the country for the class of 2022, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

He picked Penn State over offers from programs like Maryland, Baylor and Arizona State. The Terps were thought to be high on his list, as he hails from Baltimore.

Roye is Penn State’s third commitment from the state of Maryland in this class. He joins 4-star DL Dani Dennis-Sutton and 3-star safety KJ Winston.

Penn State now has 25 commitments in its 2022 recruiting class. The Nittany Lions already had the No. 1 overall class in the country even before Roye’s commitment, per 247Sports Composite rankings.

Prospects in the class of 2022 can officially sign with programs during the Early Signing Period in December.
