Penn State isn’t messing around against No. 2 Ohio State and the final play of the 1st half might be known as the hit heard around college football.

The Nittany Lions are currently leading 14-13 at the half in Happy Valley largely due to their defense. Outside of a 4-yard touchdown run by Buckeyes’ running back Miyan Williams in the 1st quarter, Penn State has contained an offense that’s currently averaging 49.5 points per game.

But the final play is what’ll get fans talking.

On the final drive of the 1st half, the Buckeyes were driving. C.J. Stroud connected with Marvin Harrison Jr. for gains of 14 and 21 yards to put Ohio State deep in Penn State territory.

But with 2nd-and-goal, Stroud would be sacked by Johnny Dixon for a loss of 5 yards. Stroud would lose to the football, but Ohio State recovered as time expired.

Currently, Stroud has gone 15-of-19 passing for 179 yards. The Nittany Lions have eliminated Ohio State’s run game, holding both TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams to 28 yards off 10 carries. Ohio State has also struggled to convert on 3rd down, going 1-of-7 in the 1st half.

Offensively, Sean Clifford rebounded after 2 early interceptions for back-to-back touchdown drives in the 2nd quarter. Clifford connected with Parker Washington for a 58-yard touchdown with just over 11 minutes remaining. He then found KeAndre Lambert-Smith for a 23-yard score to take the lead.

Penn State will receive the ball to begin the 2nd half.
