Penn State is reportedly losing its top wide receiver from 2024 to the NCAA transfer portal.

Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports/247Sports reported Tuesday that Harrison “Trey” Wallace III is expected to explore playing elsewhere in 2025. Though the transfer portal for undergraduate entry closed, members of College Football Playoff teams were given extra time after their final game of the season.

Wallace has spent 4 seasons in Happy Valley. He has one season of college football eligibility, having used a redshirt for 2021.

This past season, Wallace started all 15 games. He posted the best numbers of his career with 46 catches for 720 yards and 4 touchdowns.

In 2023, he made 8 appearances, with 6 starts. As a redshirt sophomore, he recorded 19 catches for 228 yards and 1 touchdown.

Wallace recorded his first offensive statistics in 2022 as a redshirt freshman. He has 19 catches in 13 games off the bench, logging 273 yards and 1 touchdown.

While Penn State is bringing many key pieces back for 2025, the Nittany Lions have work to do in the receiver room. Earlier Tuesday, Omari Evans was also announced as a transfer portal entrant.
