A member of Penn State’s defensive line is no longer with the program, according to a report from 247Sports.

Defensive tackle Ellison Jordan is no longer with the Nittany Lions football program, but is still a student enrolled at Penn State University, according to the report from 247Sports. Jordan was not listed on the preseason roster.

“Ellison Jordan is no longer a member of the Penn State football team. He remains a student at Penn State with access to the resources and support provided for all Penn State students,” A Penn State representative told 247Sports. “He also retains access to Morgan Academic Center support services, and continued injury care as needed.”

Jordan battled injury issues throughout his career at Penn State and saw action in just three games before suffering a knee injury. Earlier this summer, Jordan posted an awkward video on Twitter, questioning why he continued to play football and essentially calling out the coaching staff.

He later deleted the posts and video.

Jordan is a former four-star prospect and was expected to be a major contributor on the defensive line during his Penn State career. The Nittany Lions open the season on Saturday Aug. 31 against Idaho.
