Saquon Barkley isn't surprised about Miles Sanders' start to NFL career: 'He has a great work ethic'
A couple years ago, Penn State’s backfield was absolutely loaded.
Yes, Saquon Barkley was there. But, also, Miles Sanders was there, too. Now, in November, 2019, both are in the NFL.
Barkley is more established. He had a phenomenal rookie season. But, Sanders as a rookie is showing his talents as well. Maybe not as much as Barkley, but what Barkley has done — and continues to do — is almost unprecedented.

Earlier this week, Barkley was asked about Sanders and if he was surprised about the former Nittany Lions’ success so early on in his career:
“Not at all,” the New York Giants’ star running back said Thursday in a telephone interview. “Miles Sanders is a great worker. He has a great work ethic. He’s always trying to find ways to improve his game.”
More from Barkley:
“Everyone knows where the position of running back is going,” Barkley said. “You have to be able to catch the ball, block, run between and outside the tackles, just kind of be a do-it-all back.”
“I think [Sanders] has been showing that so far, and I still think he has so much more to show, and he’s going to continue to get better as the season goes on.”
Again, Barkley knows what he’s talking about. If you’re a fantasy football kind of person, you know that Barkley was the consensus No. 1 guy to take going into this year. He’s already that good.
And, if his intellect is as good as his skills on the field, Sanders should prove to be a very good back as well.
Philadelphia Eagles fans, you can hate the New York Giants. But, don’t hate their star running back too much. Why?
Because he believes in yours.
