Penn State has changed opponents for its season opener to the 2020 season.

According to Tyler Donohue with Lions 247, Penn State was originally slated to play Nevada to begin the season on Sept. 5. As of Monday, that opponent has changed.

Now, Penn State will kick off the season against Kent State in Happy Valley. Donohue indicated the switch came as Nevada will play against Arkansas to start 2020.

The scheduling change is already confirmed on Penn State’s official website. That means the Nittany Lions will face Kent State, Virginia Tech, and San Jose State in non-conference action next season. Penn State will also see Northwestern, Iowa, and Nebraska as B1G crossover games in addition to the traditional B1G East opponents.
