Targeting or no targeting?

That always seems to be a question each week when it comes to college football. This Saturday was no different.

However, this targeting call that led to an ejection looked fairly clear-cut. Penn State traveled to face Indiana and the No. 18 Nittany Lions led the Hoosiers 20-14 in the third quarter.

Indiana isn’t backing down. And now, the Hoosiers might have an easier time throwing the football.

Indiana was driving on Penn State and Nittany Lions DB Garrett Taylor became the latest player to end up getting ejected for targeting.

Here’s a look at the hit:

Taylor appears to hit the runner pretty clearly helmet-to-helmet. That will get a targeting call every single time.

With it being the second half, Taylor has to miss two halves of football as well, so not only will he be out for the remainder of the game against the Hoosiers, but when Penn State plays Iowa next week, he’ll have to sit out the first half of that contest as well.
