After suffering injuries last week, Saints place Drew Brees on injured reserve
After New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees suffered multiple injuries last week (a rib injury and a collapsed lung) he has officially been placed on injured reserve.
The news was tweeted out earlier today by ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Brees will be out a minimum of three weeks after being placed on the injured reserve list.

Starting in Brees’ place for the time being will be Taysom Hill, not Jameis Winston. Schefter confirmed that earlier today as well:
Saints’ QB Taysom Hill will start Sunday vs. the Falcons, per source. Hill took all the starter reps at practice this week. Jameis Winston will be the backup.

The loss of Brees comes at a critical time of the Saints season. They’re in a tight divisional race with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for first place and Brees was also playing some great football again this season.
He exits the lineup for the time being with 2,196 yards passing with 18 touchdowns to just three interceptions.
