Drew Brees is not ready to throw in the towel on broadcasting during the 2022 season. In fact, he’s not ready to throw the towel in on just about everything.
Sunday evening, a report from Andrew Marchand with the New York Post surfaced regarding Brees’ broadcasting future. According to Marchand’s report, Brees and NBC were mutually parting ways after just one season.
During the 2021 NFL season, Brees was a live game analyst and in-studio host for NBC during Football Night in America. Marchand also reported the network had “soured” on Brees’ potential behind the mic.
Brees has since responded to his future via Twitter. He claimed to be “undecided” on his future and provided a number of possibilities for the 2022 season, including working for NBC and playing football.
While most of Brees’ comments are likely tongue in cheek, it definitely sounds like he is keeping his options open for 2022:
Despite speculation from media about my future this fall, I’m currently undecided. I may work for NBC, I may play football again, I may focus on business and philanthropy, I may train for the pickleball tour, senior golf tour, coach my kids or all of the above. I’ll let you know
