Da’Joun Hewitt has announced his next destination.

The former Purdue running back revealed on Twitter that he has committed to Eastern Kentucky, where he’ll continue his college football career. The Colonels compete at the FCS level.

Hewitt was a 3-star member of Purdue’s 2019 recruiting class out of Nashville, Tennessee. He ranked as one of the Top 40 players out of his home state and was a Top 100 running back in the cycle. Hewitt committed to Purdue over other FBS offers from Marshall, Old Dominion, Rice, Rutgers an Temple.

In two seasons with the Boilermakers, Hewitt played in six games. By retaining his redshirt status in 2019 and the NCAA’s blanket waiver for all fall student-athletes in 2020, the running back will have all four years of eligibility remaining at Eastern Kentucky.

While at Purdue, Hewitt totaled 9 yards on 6 carries and caught 1 pass for 4 yards. All of that production came during the 2019 season, playing in four games. Last fall, he made appearances in two contests but did not record any statistics.
