Purdue-Nevada was one of the best game in Week 1.

Sure, neither team was ranked. From a national perspective, the interest may not have been absurdly high. But from a pure football perspective, it was an incredible game.

Purdue led 24-7 at halftime and all things were going the Boilermakers way. Quarterback Elijah Sindelar had four TD passes in the first two-and-a-half quarters. But then, Nevada made its comeback and eventually won the game 34-31 thanks to a 56-yard field goal.

With that, Purdue coach Jeff Brohm spoke to the media on Monday for his weekly press conference. He talked a bit about the thrilling game against Nevada and at one point, mentioned a late pass that appeared to be intercepted by Purdue.

In the end, it was ruled incomplete:

Brohm and the Boilermakers had their minds made up that it should be Purdue’s football after that play. Apparently, the officials thought otherwise. A review upheld the decision of it being an incomplete pass.

Why?

Brohm doesn’t know.
