Purdue had a chance to start the year 1-0 with a huge win over Northwestern. Unfortunately for the Boilermakers, nine penalties and three turnovers were costly in a 31-27 loss to the Wildcats.
There were some positives from the game, as freshman receiver Rondale Moore had a sensational performance, showing the country just how electric he can be. Senior quarterback David Blough also helped dig the Boilers out of a late hole.
But this one leaves a bad taste in the mouth of Purdue, especially losing on a boneheaded penalty. Here’s what head coach Jeff Brohm had to say after the loss:
Brohm: “It was a disappointing loss for us. All losses are, but this one hurts.”

#Purdue coach Jeff Brohm on interceptions: ‘With (Elijah) we try to take shots. … When that breaks down,’ he has to make good decisions. ‘At end of year, he did not do that.’ Believes he’ll improve from it.
