This is not the news Purdue was hoping for in regards to injured running back Tario Fuller.

Reports surfaced Saturday that Fuller had sustained what appeared to be a significant injury during a scrimmage. Fans held their breath over the weekend in hopes that the official news would be more promising.

Unfortunately, head coach Jeff Brohm addressed the media Monday and updated Fuller’s status. Brohm indicated he is now out indefinitely after suffering a fractured jaw in two places.

That news is certainly a big blow to Purdue’s offense. The Boilermakers are already replacing quarterback David Blough and their top two rushers from 2018 in D.J. Knox and Markell Jones. Those two combined for over 1,400 yards on the ground last season, and Fuller was expected to play a bigger role in replacing them this season.
