Just a day after Jeff Brohm told reporters that Purdue wide receiver Jared Sparks has opted out of the rest of the 2020 season, another Boilermaker has decided his season is done in West Lafayette.
Rivals.com reported on Tuesday that Amad Anderson Jr. has entered his name in the NCAA transfer portal. The report comes after Purdue’s loss to Rutgers to drop to 2-3 on the season. There are just three games left in the year.
Anderson, a 2018 3-star recruit, had a solid campaign in 2019, hauling in 31 receptions for 343 yards and three touchdowns.
His sophomore season has been less than stellar. Anderson has just five receptions for 19 yards this season for Purdue, but was without a play on the stat-sheet during Purdue’s 37-30 loss to Rutgers last Saturday.
Anderson was a member of Purdue’s 2018 recruiting class. Out of high school, Anderson ranked as the No. 35 athlete and one of the Top 450 overall prospects for his cycle. He was listed as the No. 5 player out of New York.
This week, Purdue is playing Nebraska.
