Spoiled! Purdue fans storm field after taking down No. 3 Michigan State

Purdue has done it again, knocking off yet another top-5 team while being unranked. This time, the Boilermakers took down Mel Tucker’s No. 3 Michigan State squad in West Lafayette.
It was a dramatic game all evening long. After coming out of the half with a slim lead, Purdue turned the ball over and watched Michigan State tie it right up after the break.
After that, the Boilermakers took control with David Bell terrorizing the Spartan defense for another 200-yard performance. It was Bell’s 2nd 200-yard game with both of those outings coming against top-5 competition. He also set Purdue’s all-time record for 100-yard games.
Michigan State did cut the lead to 8 points with a quick-strike touchdown late in the fourth quarter. But Purdue answered with a sustained drive that milked the clock and ended with a field goal, securing the 40-29 win.
While the win over No. 2 Iowa inside Kinnick Stadium was sweet, the Purdue faithful missed out on a chance to celebrate at home. That was not the case this time around with the scene inside Ross-Ade Stadium proving to be mayhem.
