Dylan Harper produces first triple-double for Rutgers in over 40 years
Dylan Harper and Rutgers basketball hit the court on Monday for one final time in 2024. In the process, Harper etched his name into the record books of the Scarlet Knights.
Facing Columbia, the Scarlet Knights were dominant from start to finish. It was a 91-64 win for Rutgers with both Harper and fellow star freshman Ace Bailey leading the way, but Harper produced the stat line of the evening.
With one final assist just inside 5 minutes to play, Harper finalized the program’s first triple-double since Roy Hinson in 1983. Here’s how the historic assist went down:

Harper finished the game with 16 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists while also committing just 1 turnover. He was efficient from deep while going 4-for-7 from 3-point range.
While it was a historic performance from Harper, it was otherwise business as usual for the elite freshman. He leads the Scarlet Knights with 23.3 points and 4.2 assists per game while also averaging 4.8 rebounds.
Apparently, this has been the week for triple-doubles in the Big Ten as the 2024 calendar wraps up. Kylan Boswell delivered his own triple-double (the 7th in Illinois history) during a Sunday afternoon victory for the Illini.
