Rutgers basketball reportedly latest B1G program to cancel non-conference game due to COVID
Rutgers basketball is set to cancel a Saturday game against non-conference opponent Rider, per reports.
According to reporter James Kratch with NJ.com, the Scarlet Knights will cancel Saturday’s game due to rising COVID cases within the Rutgers program. Rutgers most recently played Seton Hall who is battling with its own COVID situation.
According to Kratch, the Pirates were also forced to cancel their regularly scheduled game on Saturday vs. Iona.

Rutgers is just the latest program to experience disruptions due to the latest surge of COVID. Penn State has canceled games against VCU and next Wednesday’s game against Quinnipiac ahead of Christmas.
Hopefully, disruptions will remain at a minimal as teams get set for increased conference play after the holidays.
