Miller Moss opened the 2024 season with some big numbers and performances in key moments for USC. Unfortunately, the team has since found wins hard to come by, and the Trojans are making a quarterback change during the bye week.
Head coach Lincoln Riley confirmed Jayden Maiava will start in USC’s next game against Nebraska in Week 12. Now, Moss is reportedly looking to hit the transfer portal with a new destination already in mind.
According to JJ Metz, Moss plans to enter the transfer portal after losing the starting job. Metz also reported that Moss’s first choice for a next destination is Michigan. Moss has not yet commented on the report.

Riley spoke about the decision to make a switch at his weekly press conference, and he was asked for his message to Moss moving forward. While Riley did not say he expected Moss to transfer, it was certainly a possibility he referenced.
“I’ve had these play out where something like this happens and a guy goes to another school, and he ends up playing in the NFL,” said Riley. “I’ve had these happen where a guy sat down, didn’t play for a little bit, went back in and played even better, took it over and ran off from there.
“Anything can happen. It’s football. The tough thing is you don’t know exactly what is going to happen, but if I know Miller, he’ll stay in a really positive mindset, he’ll come and go to work for this team and he’ll be ready for his next opportunity, no matter where it is.”
As for the possibility of heading to Michigan, it’s no secret the Wolverines have struggled mightily on offense, and a lot of that has to do with the inability to throw the ball effectively. A player with an arm like Moss’s would go a long way to unlocking the offense.
