USC tight end Lake McRee is questionable for Saturday’s game against Penn State. He suffered an injury earlier this season against Michigan on Sept. 21 and has been out ever since.

The injury occurred during the third quarter of that game when McRee had his legs taken out from under him while trying to catch a pass. The Trojans had other players listed on the injury report as cornerback Jacobe Covington was also listed as questionable.

“It’s legal right now, but a hit like that does not need to be legal,” head coach Lincoln Riley said following the injury. “Like, you think all the things in college football and football in general that we’ve cleaned up, it’s very simple to clean up a defenseless player that you can’t see and you go low on him.”

USC is confirmed to be without two of its players, with star linebacker Eric Gentry and offensive lineman Micah Banuelos confirmed to be out of action.

The Nittany Lions have several players ruled out between safety Kevin Winston Jr., wide receiver Kaden Saunders, running back Cam Wallace, linebacker Keon Wylie, defensive end Zuriah Fisher, wide receiver Jake Spencer and tight end Andrew Rappleyea. None of their players are listed as questionable, and it should be noted that Nicholas Singleton was not listed.

This doesn’t necessarily come as a surprise, considering he was always expected to play. Here’s a full look at both availability reports.

Penn State and USC are set to kick off at 3:30 p.m. ET (12:30 pm PT).
