Chez Mellusi was having a strong 2021 season for Wisconsin to begin the year. Unfortunately, he went down with a knee injury that cut his season short.

Now gearing up for 2022, Mellusi is looking to get back on the field quickly. Though Braelon Allen is likely to be RB1 for the Badgers after a dominant freshman campaign, having a healthy Mellusi will give Wisconsin more depth and versatility at the position.

On Monday, Mellusi showed a glimpse of where he is at for this point of fall camp. He ripped off a long run after the offensive line opened up a hole, including multiple cuts after getting deep into the secondary.

All indications throughout fall camp are that Mellusi is healthy and looking strong with the Badgers. Seeing him rip off a long run is more encouraging news for the running back.

Unfortunately for the Badgers, Allen was held out of practice Monday with a program official indicating Allen is “nicked up.” That is expected to be a precautionary measure at this point.
