This is a well-deserving but totally unsurprising nomination for Jonathan Taylor.

The star running back of the Badgers came up big in Saturday’s 35-14 blowout of Michigan. Taylor scored two first-quarter touchdowns as Wisconsin raced out to a 14-0 lead. That lead grew all the way to 35-0 before the Wolverines added a couple of late scores.

Taylor finished the game with 203 yards rushing and two touchdowns as Wisconsin came away with a statement victory on its home field. With that performance, it comes as little surprise that Taylor earned national recognition after the weekend.

ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit tweeted out his list of top-performing players Monday evening, and Taylor checked in at No. 2 on the list. No. 1 was Washington QB Jacob Eason for his work in a blowout win over BYU:

Hopefully, Taylor has more performances like this down the stretch.
