Melvin Gordon has had a bit of a tumultuous week with the Denver Broncos. However, he received a positive status update on Wednesday.

According to ESPN’s Jeff Legwold, Denver head coach Nathaniel Hackett revealed he spoke with Gordon following the running back’s comments after a Monday Night Football loss. Hackett also revealed Gordon will be back in the starting lineup against the New York Jets.

During the 3-point loss to the Chargers, Gordon had 3 carries for 8 yards and appeared in just 16% of offensive snaps. That was Gordon’s lowest usage of the season and he did not have a carry in the second half.

After the game, Gordon admitted no one explained to him the reasoning for his lack of usage in the loss. But after talking with coaches, it looks like he’ll get another shot at the starting lineup this week.
