Nick Herbig, Wisconsin LB, shares cryptic message on social media following big loss to Illinois

Nick Herbig and Wisconsin are not trending the way the team was hoping for coming into the season Despite being the overwhelming favorite to win the B1G West this year, the Badgers are now 2-3 on the season and have been blown out in the first two conference games of the year.
The most recent loss was at the hands of Illinois on Saturday with a 34-10 beat down in Madison. That loss by the Badgers became the worst loss to Illinois since the 1980s.
Following the loss, Herbig – who had 3 tackles and a TFL Saturday – took to social media with a message. It read:
“If a nobody can influence a somebody, nobody wins.” The quote was attributed to Shaq (NBA star Shaquille O’Neal).

It is hard to know who – or what – Herbig is referencing exactly, but a likely target is the idea of blocking out criticism as the Badgers look to get better and break the streak. Wisconsin hits the road vs. Northwestern in Week 6.
