Paul Chryst: 'Plenty to work on' offensively despite Wisconsin's 49-0 blowout
It looks like it may be hard to please head coach Paul Chryst this season.
Wisconsin began its 2019 season Friday night, taking on South Florida. The Badgers wasted no time getting a strong start by racing out to a 28-0 lead at halftime. In the end, they shutout the Bulls by a final score of 49-0.
Offensively, Wisconsin was incredibly balanced and efficient with over 200 yards both rushing and passing. That balance allowed the Badgers to control the ball with 35 minutes time of possession.

Such a performance would make most coaches happy, but Chryst is not most coaches. During his Monday press conference, he indicated there is still plenty for the offense to work on.
Matt Belz with Bucky’s 5th Quarter shared the comments:
Paul Chryst says there is "plenty to work on" in terms of the offense.

Among the things to work on, Chryst highlighted the work of quarterback Jack Coan. He did have some praise for Coan but said the QB will need to be more accurate with his deep balls and getting the ball out ahead of the pressure:
On Jack Coan, Chryst said he needs to improve on the sacks. But also loved the way Coan competed and his demeanor. Needs to hit some of those deep balls this year, "overshot" that first one to Quintez Cephus when he had the protection.

It is good Chryst is staying on the team to improve after what appeared to be a nearly flawless performance. The Badgers are now getting ready to take on Central Michigan this Saturday.
