The preliminary court date for Wisconsin wide receiver Quintez Cephus has been scheduled for Sept. 6, according to a report.
Jeff Portrykus of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel reported Thursday morning, during Cephus initial hearing, that the receiver was out on a $5,000 signature bond and he cannot have any contact with the alleged victims in the case.
Cephus has been charged with second- and third-degree sexual assault.

Last week, Cephus announced that he would be taking a leave of absence from the team to “focus on clearing” his name.
Shortly after the charges were filed, Wisconsin announced that Cephus was suspended from all team activities until further information became available. Another receiver, Danny Davis, was also named in the report and is serving a two-game suspension, per head coach Paul Chryst.
Wisconsin opens the season on Friday, Aug. 31 against Western Kentucky.
