Graham Mertz has not played well as Wisconsin and Notre Dame head into halftime in Chicago.

Saturday’s top-20 matchup at Soldier Field has been a mostly back-and-forth defensive struggle. The two sides only combined for 1 touchdown, and that score carried a bit of controversy with it.

What hasn’t been controversial is the play of Mertz under center for the Badgers. Needless to say, he has struggled mightily against the Fighting Irish defense.

At the break, Mertz is 5-for-13 passing with 71 yards and a costly interception. He also had a play where he fumbled the ball twice (Wisconsin recovered). And with ex-Badger Jack Coan throwing for the touchdown in the first half, fans and media alike have sounded off on the play of Mertz in Week 4.
