It will be hard to find a team that has had a more complete start to 2019 than the Badgers.

Wisconsin is 2-0 entering an early Week 3 bye, crushing opponents by a total score of 110-0. Paul Chryst’s squad has pitched back-to-back shutouts to begin the season while featuring an efficient and explosive offense in both big wins.

Some analysts around the country are beginning to take notice, including FOX Sports analyst Joel Klatt. During a recent segment for FOX College Football, he laid out why he’s buying into the Badgers as a contender.

To start, Klatt poked fun at the fact that his staff had to fashion a new placard for his top 10 segment by pasting “Wisconsin” over a previously made card. Who was on the replaced card? Florida:

“Wisconsin’s better than Florida, so I’m glad we covered Florida up,” joked Klatt.

Klatt went on to explain that Wisconsin definitely didn’t get a lot of love coming into the season. However, he has the Badgers rising quickly because they have announced the few questions that surrounded the team coming into the season:

“I’m more bullish on Wisconsin than most, in large part due to the fact that there were just two – one and a half – questions from me about Wisconsin,” Klatt explained. “The inexperienced defense; how would they play? They’ve given up zero points. And then how would they do throwing the football? And they’ve done really well with Jack Coan at QB, including finding Jonathan Taylor out of the backfield.”

Here’s Klatt’s full breakdown of the 2-0 Badgers:

Obviously, the Badgers are a long way from achieving anything of consequence in 2019, but expectations continue to rise after a great start. The picture on Wisconsin should be a lot clearer following a Week 4 showdown with No. 10 Michigan in Madison.
