Wisconsin adds FBS Independent opponent to 2022 schedule
On Thursday, Wisconsin added New Mexico State to its 2022 schedule.
New Mexico State is an FBS Independent.
“The Wisconsin Badgers have added the New Mexico State Aggies to their 2022 football schedule, FBSchedules.com has learned. “A copy of the game contract was obtained from the University of Wisconsin-Madison via a state public records request.”
According to FBSchedules, the game will be played on Sept. 17, 2022 and Wisconsin is paying New Mexico State $1.4 million.

The last — and only — time the Badgers have played New Mexico State was back in 1962 when Wisconsin won 69-13. The other opponents on the Badgers’ non-conference schedule for 2022 are Washington State and Illinois State.
