Wisconsin running back Jonathan Taylor is a sensational running back. Every Big Ten fan already knew that, but for anyone who forget, Taylor reminded them with an incredible first half against Kent State.

Taylor rushed for 126 yards on 17 carries, averaging 7.4 yards per rush, in the first 30 minutes against the Golden Flashes on Saturday. He also scored three rushing touchdowns.

For good measure, Taylor added three receptions for 29 yards and another touchdown. He led Wisconsin in catches during the first half, and he scored all four of the Badgers’ touchdowns.

Wisconsin leads Kent State at halftime, 28-0.

Here’s video of Taylor’s beautiful touchdown reception:

For the 27th time in his college career, Taylor has eclipsed the 100-yard plateau on the ground. He’s only not reached the century mark in rushing five times while at Wisconsin. Only former Badgers Heisman Trophy winner Ron Dayne has more 100-yard games in Wisconsin history with 33.

Taylor is closing in on another school milestone. Coming into Saturday, Taylor needed 186 yards to surpass Melvin Gordon for the third-most rushing yards in program history. He’s now 60 yards shy of moving into third place on the Wisconsin rushing list.
