Nebraska’s offense has looked inconsistent at times, but two big plays from Adrian Martinez have set up both of the Huskers’ scores.

First, his 30-yard pass to Markese Stepp setup the Huskers’ first touchdown of the season.

On Nebraska’s next drive, Martinez hit Oliver Martin on this deep ball to put the Huskers in position to build on their lead:

That’s a 43-yard connection that ultimately resulted in a Nebraska field goal. Martinez had chances to get the Huskers into the end zone on this drive, but was inaccurate in the red zone.

So far in this game, Martinez is 4-of-9 for 95 yards.

On the other side, Illinois is playing with its backup quarterback after starter Brandon Peters went down with a shoulder injury in the first quarter.

Nebraska is trying to avenge a 41-23 loss to Illinois from last season. The Huskers lead the all-time series 13-4-1.
