NCAA rules state that there will be transfer windows for student-athletes to use to transfer to a school of their choice. However, the NCAA decided to tell schools to withdraw 19 transfers from the portal per Matt Zenitz of On3 Sports.
The new rule went into effect on Aug. 31. It allows for players to transfer starting Dec. 5 after the championship selections have been made, and from May 1-15.
There is some good news if the school did accept any transfers beforehand, however. The NCAA also stated that any transfers before Aug. 31 will not have to withdraw their names from the portal.
This means that players like former Penn State RB Cazaiah Holmes will be allowed to remain in the portal, since he entered it on Aug. 15. This also good news for former Penn State DE Ken Talley as well. Talley entered the portal on Aug. 16.
It looks like the NCAA is serious about its transfer windows.
