And then there was one.

The calendar has turned to March and we’re up to 13 B1G teams that have now received at least one verbal commitment to its 2022 recruiting class. Nebraska and Indiana were the most recent to jump in on the party, both landing their first pledges earlier this month.

Only one team has not yet landed pledge yet. Northwestern.

The defending B1G West champions still don’t have any verbal commitments in the 2022 recruiting class, per 247Sports. The Wildcats are still waiting for that first pledge, although there aren’t many concerns coming out of Evanston.

Head coach Pat Fitzgerald recently signed a 10-year contract extension and the Wildcats claimed another B1G West title in 2020, their second in three seasons. Even though the recruiting process might be a little sluggish right now, it probably won’t be a big deal in a few months.

Nonetheless, it’s always interesting to see which teams pick up commitments early in the process, which sees an influx during the summer months and who waits until the nearing of the Early Signing Period to put together a class.

Just something to keep an eye on as the 2022 recruiting process rolls along.
