Former Michigan running back and one of the top prospects from the 2016 recruiting class has announced where he’ll continue his academic and athletic career.

Kareem Walker, who was a member of the Wolverines’ 2016 recruiting class, announced via Twitter that he’ll be headed to Mississippi State.

Walker left the program prior to the start of the 2018 season. He released a statement on Sunday night.

Walker played in just five games for Michigan, taking 20 carries for 68 yards and a touchdown. All of his playing time came in the 2017 season.

Prior to committing to Mississippi State, Walker spent a season at Fort Scott Community College.

Walker was revered as one of the top players in the 2016 recruiting class out of high school. He was tabbed as the third-best player out of New Jersey and the fourth-best ball carrier in the class. He was a 4-star prospect.
